Annwyl Rieni, 

Mae'n bleser gennym groesawu eich plentyn fel darpar ddisgybl i Ysgol Gyfun Aberaeron ac edrychwn ymlaen at berthynas hapus. Rhoddwn bwyslais arbennig ar y bartneriaeth rhwng staff yr ysgol, y disgybl a chi fel rhieni - mae'n hanfodol ein bod i gyd yn gweithio gyda'n gilydd er budd addysgol y plentyn. Mae Aberaeron yn ysgol ddwyieithog draddodiadol, a'r nod yw gwneud pob disgybl yn hollol ddwyieithog ac i'r perwyl hwn mae gennym bolisi dwyieithog pendant.

Dim ond amlinelliad o'r cyfleusterau a'r cyfleoedd sydd ar gael yn Aberaeron a geir yn y llyfryn hwn. Ni all adlewyrchu mewn ffordd ddigonol ansawdd y berthynas a'r gwaith o fewn yr ysgol.

Amcanwn at greu amgylchedd o ansawdd lle y gall y disgyblion gyrraedd eu potensial llawn mewn gweithgareddau cymdeithasol, diwylliannol ac adloniannol yn ogystal â chyrhaeddiad academaidd. Gellir disgrifio awyrgylch yr ysgol fel un hapus a chydweithredol lle mae'r disgyblion yn cael eu hannog i gymryd rhan mewn ystod eang o brofiadau addysgol sydd hefyd yn mynd â nhw tu allan i'r ystafell ddosbarth.

Edrychaf ymlaen i weld perthynas hapus yn datblygu rhwng y cartref a'r ysgol fel y gall eich plentyn wneud cymaint o gynnydd ag sy'n bosibl. Gwnawn ein gorau i roi cyfle i'ch plentyn lwyddo a gobeithiwn y rhowch eich cefnogaeth lwyr i ni ac i'ch plentyn.

Dear Parents,

We are glad to welcome your child as a prospective pupil to Aberaeron Comprehensive School and look forward to a happy relationship. We lay particular emphasis on the partnership between the staff of the school, the pupil, and you the parents - it is essential that we all work together to the educational benefit of the child. Aberaeron is a traditional bilingual school, and it is our aim to make each pupil truly bilingual and to this end we implement a bilingual policy.

This booklet gives only an outline of the facilities and opportunities available at Aberaeron. It cannot adequately portray the quality of relationships and work at the school.

We aim to create a quality environment in which pupils can reach their full potential in social, cultural and recreational activities as well as in academic attainment. The prevailing atmosphere is happy and co-operative and pupils are encouraged to participate in a wide range of educational experiences which also take them outside the classroom.

I look forward to a happy relationship between home and school so that your child can make as much progress as possible. We shall do our best to provide the opportunities for success and we hope that you will give your child and us your full support.
